Native FlexRadio Support Now Available in QSO Director

We’re excited to announce that QSO Director now includes native support for FlexRadio transceivers, providing direct integration with your radio without requiring CAT emulation or third-party middleware.

Using FlexRadio’s native TCP/IP interfaces, QSO Director communicates directly with compatible FlexRadio transceivers, delivering fast, reliable control while unlocking advanced capabilities that simply aren’t possible through traditional CAT interfaces. FlexRadio provides an open network API for third-party software development, enabling applications such as QSO Director to integrate directly with the radio over the network.

Native Integration

The new native interface offers seamless communication with your FlexRadio across your local network, allowing QSO Director to access radio functions directly while maintaining excellent performance and responsiveness.

Unlike conventional CAT connections, the native interface has been designed specifically for FlexRadio’s software-defined architecture, providing a richer integration experience for everyday operation.

Built-in Spectrum Scope Support

One of the headline features of this release is native spectrum scope integration.

QSO Director can now receive panadapter and waterfall data directly from your FlexRadio, allowing you to view live spectrum information inside the QSO Director interface. This gives operators another way to monitor band activity while logging contacts, hunting DX, or searching for new signals. FlexRadio’s API supports streaming panadapter and waterfall data to client applications over the network.

Works Alongside SmartSDR and AetherSDR

Perhaps best of all, the native interface has been designed to coexist with your existing operating workflow.

You can continue using SmartSDR or AetherSDR as your primary radio interface while QSO Director remains connected to the same radio at the same time. This means you don’t have to choose between your preferred operating software and the advanced logging, cluster, mapping and station management features provided by QSO Director.

Whether you’re contesting, chasing DX, operating portable, or simply enjoying a casual operating session, QSO Director integrates naturally into your existing FlexRadio station.
