Yaesu FT-710 Spectrum Scope Now Supported Over USB – No SCU-LAN10 Required
October 12, 2026
We’re pleased to announce expanded support for QRP Labs transceivers in QSO Director, adding integration for five popular radios from the QRP Labs range:
- QRP Labs QMX
- QRP Labs QDX
- QRP Labs QCX
- QRP Labs QCX+
- QRP Labs QCX Mini
The addition brings these compact and highly regarded QRP transceivers into QSO Director’s growing collection of supported amateur radio hardware.
Supporting the QRP Labs ecosystem
QRP Labs has developed a strong following among amateur radio operators, particularly those interested in QRP operation, portable operating, home construction and digital modes.
The QMX (QRP Labs Multimode Xcvr) is particularly interesting for portable operators. Its compact size, multi-band capability and computer connectivity make it well suited to lightweight stations and operating activities such as POTA and SOTA.
The QDX (QRP Labs Digital Xcvr) takes a different approach, providing a compact transceiver designed specifically around computer-generated digital modes. This makes it an attractive companion for operators using modes such as FT8 and other weak-signal digital modes.
QRP Labs’ QCX family has meanwhile become well established among CW enthusiasts. QSO Director now supports the original QCX together with the QCX+ and compact QCX Mini, allowing more QRP Labs owners to integrate their radios directly with their logging environment.
Integrated radio control
Support for the new QRP Labs models is provided through QSO Director’s radio-control system, allowing supported radio state to be integrated with the rest of the application.
Rather than treating radio control as an isolated feature, QSO Director uses information from the connected transceiver throughout the operating environment. This allows frequency and mode information obtained from the radio to be used by features such as logging and other frequency-aware tools.
For operators who regularly move between different radios, QRP Labs devices can also be used alongside the extensive range of Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Elecraft, FlexRadio, Xiegu and other transceivers already supported by QSO Director.
A natural fit for portable operation
Adding QRP Labs support is particularly relevant as we continue expanding QSO Director’s support for portable and activation-based amateur radio operating.
Compact QRP equipment such as the QMX and QCX Mini is frequently used for portable stations where size, weight and power consumption matter. These are exactly the kinds of operating environments that features being developed around QSO Director’s Activation Mode are intended to support.
Whether operating from a POTA park, activating a SOTA summit, working portable from the field or simply running a small QRP station at home, QRP Labs users can now bring their radios into the same QSO Director environment used to manage their contacts and operating activity.
More radios, one operating environment
Hardware support remains an important part of QSO Director’s development.
Our aim isn’t simply to support the latest flagship transceivers. Amateur radio stations contain an enormous variety of equipment, ranging from modern network-connected SDRs to compact QRP radios and equipment that has been on the air for decades.
Adding the QRP Labs QMX, QDX, QCX, QCX+ and QCX Mini is another step towards making QSO Director an operating and logging environment that can be used with as wide a range of amateur radio equipment as possible.
If you’re using one of these QRP Labs radios, we’d particularly like to hear about your experience using it with QSO Director as we continue to expand and refine hardware support.
Join Us on the Journey
By joining QSO Director in Early Access, you’re not just buying software, you’re helping shape its future. Your feedback, ideas, and real-world use will play a vital role in what comes next.
I’m incredibly grateful for your support and excited for the journey ahead.
Let’s build the future of amateur radio software — together.
